In a ‘fiery’ interview by The Wall Street Journal, RIM’s co-CEO Mike Lazaridis commented on the recent multiple bans on their BlackBerry smartphones. Lazaridis said that “this is about the Internet,” and that “everything on the Internet is encrypted. This not a BlackBerry-only issue,” before adding that if “they can’t deal with the Internet, they should shut it off.” But that’s not all. Lazaridis further went on to saying that “we’re going to continue to work with them to make sure they understand the reality of the Internet,” noting that “a lot of these people don’t have Ph.Ds, and they don’t have a degree in computer science.” Despite those statements, however, Lazaridis seems confident that the situation will get sorted out, saying that it “will get resolved if there is a chance for rational discussion.”

Great news for Google and his pals. People seemed to have liked their Android phones more than the other two fruit companies. Surely nobody can further comment, when the consumers have voted with their wallet. NPD, the consumer market researcher has gotten hold of the numbers for the sales for the second quarter of 2010. Android triumph with 33 percent of overall sales, while the former champion black fruit company RIM was down to 28 percent. The white fruit company Apple only occupies about 22 percent, making it the 3^rd place holder of this quarter-fight championship.

Quando os primeiros consumidores começaram a aproveitar dos seus Nintendo Wii, muitos reclamaram que o console era tão empolgante que chegava a ser perigoso. Vários relatos de TV quebradas surgiram. Agora, anos depois, um desastrado apresentador detona uma TV de LCD ao vivo. Obs.: corra para o 5:10m do vídeo.

Acredito que, assim como a maioria dos leitores do blog, não morro de amores pela Microsoft. Porém, não podemos fechar os olhos para as notícias que vem aparecendo sobre a gigante de Redmond na mídia. Estaria a Microsoft “acertando o prumo” e querendo voltar a brilhar?

Em Hollywood o cara que esta nesta foto ao lado foi demitido por postar no Twitter informações sobre as celebridades que frequentavam o restaurante. Jon-Barret Ingels, trabalhava no Barney Greengrass, em Beverly Hills. Ele publicava informações como os pedidos das estrelas ou suas posturas no local. Em um destes Twitts ele postou: “Jane Adams, atriz da série ‘Hung’ da HBO saiu sem pagar uma conta de U$13,44. Sua agente foi chamada e pagou no dia seguinte. Sem Gorgetas!!!” Ela explicou que tinha deixado sua carteira no carro e acabou não voltando mais (que camba mais amador em!)

A atriz Ali Larter, a loira maravilhosa do seriado Heroes (bipolar), entrou para comprar uma bebida e ele sem piedade publicou que ela estava sem sutiã (essa eu não perdoava tambem). Entre tantas outras.

A internet já faz parte da vida de muita gente, especialmente dos brasileiros, que sempre aparecem liderando o tempo de navegação online em pesquisas do gênero. Porém, nem todo mundo tem acesso a internet em casa, sendo as “lan house” um dos pontos onde a população de mais baixa renda consegue o acesso.

Please do not plant tall tree near to the power line. This is what happened in North Washington city past weekend, a crazy explosion on a 60-foot poplar tree caused by the arcing power lines.

This is an official update to the original “Shift Happens” video. This new Fall 2009 version includes facts and stats focusing on the changing media landscape, including convergence and technology, and was developed in partnership with The Economist.

In Mexico, this Shop owner was shot but the bullet missed as he tried to prevent armed robbers from taking his notebook PC. The robbers just ran off after the shot, maybe they only got single bullet. Video after the break.

Bill Gates logs off at Microsoft on Friday with a teary goodbye. He is the one who built the valuable technology company based on the ambitious goal of placing a computer on every desk and in every home. He stepped away from his full-time executive role at Microsoft to focus on his philanthropic organization, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the world’s largest charity. However, he will still work part-time, joining Chief Executive Steve Ballmer on stage to deliver a short speech and field questions from employees.
